Earlham College is seeking a Japanese Language and Linguistics Instructor to join our team!

The Department of Languages and Cultures at Earlham College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Instructor of Japanese Language and Linguistics, beginning August 2023. This is a renewable position, contingent upon programmatic needs, funding availability, and successful review.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) by the time of appointment
  • Demonstrate highly successful skills in teaching Japanese at all levels
  • Specialize in language teaching, linguistics, or related fields with native or near native competency in Japanese and English.
  • A strong commitment to teaching Japanese to undergraduates is essential.
  • Must be able to teach Japanese pedagogy courses in English.
  • Be a positive example and resource to all Earlham Students
