Tenured Professor or Associate Professor of Japanese

The School of Economics, University of Hyogo, in Kobe, seeks applicants for the position of Full-time Tenured Professor or Associate Professor in Linguistics. Starting date is April 1, 2018.

Teaching duties include Japanese language education and Japanese culture (in English) for undergraduate students, and Multicultural symbiosis policy for graduate students at the University of Hyogo. It is possible to also work partly for the university's International Exchange Organization in International Student Affairs.

  Doctoral or Ph.D. Degree (or candidate).
  Giving highly effective lectures in English is expected.

  1) Curriculum vitae with a photograph;
  2) List of academic publications (books, papers, etc.);
  3) A copy of each academic publication (offprints or photocopies are acceptable);
  4) Three additional copies and summaries in Japanese of up to three main academic publications;
  5) List and syllabi of main subjects you have taught and contextual details and achievements related to your teaching;
  6) Transcript or official grade report (optional);
  7) Copy of diploma;
  8) Letter of recommendation, including contact address (optional);
  9) An essay giving your achievements and visions for future work in education and research (2000 Japanese characters).
