Full-Time (Rank Open) Japanese Instructor

Kansai Gaidai University

Kansai Gaidai University is seeking a full-time (rank open) instructor to teach all levels of Japanese Language for English speaking college students and one undergraduate course for native Japanese students. Responsibilities include 1) teaching 8 class sessions (12 hours) per week, 2) teaching Spoken Japanese as well as Reading & Writing Japanese classes, 3) teaching one undergraduate course related to teaching Japanese as a foreign language (TJFL), 4) supervising TJFL trainee teachers, 4) providing a few office hours per week.

Qualifications: 1) M.A. or higher in a field related to teaching Japanese or linguistics (required by the end of the 2024 academic year), 2) College-level Japanese experience teaching to English speaking students from basic to advanced levels, 3) Native fluency in Japanese, 4) Excellent command of English (for advising international students and participating in meetings). Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
