The Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature at Baruch College of the City University of New York invites applications for a tenure track position for an assistant professor in Japanese language, literature and culture. We are seeking a candidate who is able to teach a broad range of areas and periods of Japanese literature, as well as Japanese language courses at all levels and Japanese studies courses in English. Additional responsibilities will include student advisement and assistance with co-curricular activities and administration of the Japanese Section. Candidates with the experience and ability to integrate visual culture and cinema, and an interdisciplinary approach in their teaching will be preferred. In addition to these, a strong research portfolio will be essential. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity are particularly encouraged to apply. Compensation and Benefits:

$79,188- $93,134; Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
