AATJ Publications

The AATJ issues several different types of publications:

Newsletter
The AATJ newsletter is published four times a year, in February, May, September, and November.

Journal
AATJ’s main venue for intellectual discourse among its members is the Association’s official journal, Japanese Language and Literature. (Before 2001 (Volume 35) the journal was entitled Journal of the Association of Teachers of Japanese.)

Book Publication: "Japanese Language Education in the U.S. - Past, Present, and Future"
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the organization, AATJ, with the support of the Japan Foundation, has compiled an edited volume in Japanese, "Japanese Language Education in the U.S. -- Past, Present, and Future." The chapters of this publication are posted online here.

Occasional Papers
Eleven issues of Occasional Papers were published by the Association of Teachers of Japanese between 1995 and 2011. Now that ATJ has become AATJ (American Association of Teachers of Japanese); this series has been discontinued.
