ATJ Journal: Japanese Language and Literature

ATJ’s main venue for intellectual discourse among its members is the Association’s official journal, Japanese Language and Literature. (Before 2001 (Volume 35) the journal was entitled Journal of the Association of Teachers of Japanese.)

(A second venue is the ATJ Occasional Papers.)

In existence since 1966, JLL provides a scholarly forum for its members and the larger academic world in the area of Japanese literature, Japanese linguistics, teaching Japanese as a second or foreign language, and Japanese culture. Two issues are published each year.

Japanese Language and Literature is abstracted in all major abstraction services, including the JSTOR archive, which offers a full-text retrieval capability of past issues (those dated up to three years previous to the current volume). Ask your librarian about how to retrieve articles in past issues. If your institution does not subscribe to JSTOR, you can obtain online access to back issues of JLL as a benefit of membership. Ask the ATJ office ( ) to arrange access for you.
